TOUR OVERVIEW

Enjoy a day interacting and getting up-close to elephants at the Elephant Nature Park outside Chiang Mai.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

You will be picked up at your Chiang Mai accommodation and we will make the one hour drive north towards the Mae Tang area and the Elephant Nature Park. On arrival at the park it will be time t o meet the rescued elephant heard and you will get the chance to feed these hungry beasts from the viewing and feeding platforms. The staff at the Elephant Nature Park will provide information on the work they do with the elephants and you can spend the rest of the morning getting to know these elephants. You will be provided with a very good Thai and International Buffet lunch before commencing the main activity of the afternoon. In the afternoon you will walk the elephants down to the river for their bath time. This is usually the elephants and visitors favorite parts of the day! The elephants will enjoy frolicking and bathing in the cooling waters and you will be free to get involved and get wet with the elephants bath time! Late afternoon it will be time to say goodbye to the elephant heard and you will be transferred back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

ITINERARY

• Start at your Chiang Mai hotel - 8:00am
• Proceed to Mae Tang area
• Arrival at Nature Park
• Introduction to the Asian Elephant
• Elephant feeding session
• Lunch
• Walk elephants to the river
• Scrub and bathe elephants in Mae Tang River
• Return to your Chiang Mai hotel – arrive around 5:30pm

Groups

This tour is conducted as a group tour to depart we need a minimum of 1 persons booked on the tour. On a group tour you will join a group with others.

Transport

Group tours - transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned minibus

Transfer

This tour includes transfer to and from your Chiang Mai hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation. Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure.

Please note that this tour can pick up from city hotels only and can not pick up from resorts outside the city.

Accommodation

This is a full day tour and no accommodation is provided. Blugecko can arrange your Chiang Mai hotel if required

Guides

This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)

Insurance

A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.

Elephant welfare
The elphants residing at The Elephant Nature Park have some of the best living conditions of any elephant camp in the north of Thailand

• The Elephant Nature park do not allow riding (including bareback) and report that they do not use the bull hook to control thier elephants.

Dress Codes and what to wear

• The Northern Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire, also bring a change of clothes you will be happy to get wet in as you will be bathing with the elephants

Fitness

Exertion levels are light on this tour with a few short walks required.

Meals

This is a full day tour and lunch is provided. Vegetarians can be catered for

Tipping

There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received.
